Dark Light
Prince Of Persia Review
Review Score:

Prince Of Persia was released by Ubisoft on the 5th of December 2008, unlike many modern fighting adventure games, Prince Of Persia sticks to a classic sword & magical feel, although the enemies are from the dark world, which gives it a very historical feeling to the game.

If you have played the previous games, you will notice in this game, it is far too easy, which is only the main downsides to the game, it’s still very fun to play, although it’s not very challenging.

One of the main reasons the that I found the game to very easy is the fact that you only fight one enemy at a time, this applies to all combat, including when you have to fight the bosses, but the enemies can change state, which means you may have to change your attacking method, which does it make slightly more challenging.

Combat is quite basic, but works nicely, you’ve got four main attacks, sword, gauntlet, magic and acrobatic vault, you can put these into different combos which look very impressive. You are also able to pull off some non-combat moves, jumping, wall running, climbing, scaling etc. Your also able to make these look quite impressive, for example roof running, where you use your acrobatic skills to jump from one roof to another.

As you go though the game, you are able to unlock new areas by collecting light seeds, which look like glowing orbs, you are also able to collect plates, which allow you to use different powers, for example a green plate turns you into, something alike a spider, so you are able to quickly scale up walls while avoiding objects.

The automatic camera view isn’t too bad most of the time, although while playing the game, it’s simple to get confused if you are going left or right / up or down which can be quite annoying, but overall the camera view is fine.

The graphics in the game are brilliant and the maps are beautifully realistic and give you something to graze at, alone with this, combat-moves are quite easy to pull off and look very impressive to watch.

The storyline behind the game is quite complex and very enjoyable to go though; it’s much alike a film, which I’ve always found is great in a game because you’ve got the game, then a film like feels to the storyline.

During the game, you become very interested and learn a lot about Elika, whom is clearly a princesses past, you don’t find out too much information on the princes past, the storyline isn’t very simple to follow because it isn’t told very well, but if you do understand it, it’s a great storyline.

Sadly, most gamers will be able to complete the game within 6-10 hours, which is quite fast for a game, when you think about games like Grand Theft Auto, which people have spend days of playing just to complete it, although never the less, it’s still enjoyable to play.
