In an interview with Gamasutra about the Playstation 2, Director of Hardware Marketing for Sony, John Koller revealed a ridiculous sales figure. Our beloved console from the last generation has sold over 50 million units in the United States. The interview also goes into some of their marketing and price point strategies for the decade old console, but it is a good read. The other fun statistic from this article is the 1800 games that have been released in the US for the PS2 and that 130 have come out in the last year.
