According to IGN, the Nintendo DSi will be released on April 4th and retail for $179.99. In the article, Matt Casamassina says that they have “verified today’s story through three independent sources, we have filed the information as rumor until Nintendo makes an official announcement.” I would believe this to be true, but April 4th is a Saturday and Nintendo releases their hardware and software on Sundays. As they stated, this is truly just a rumor, but it is very plausible. Personally, I don’t see a true need to segment the market with this new DS, but Nintendo has proved us all wrong with their decisions in the past two years. The only thing that I am truly excited about is the DSiWare store and releasing must have apps will make me buy the device. COME ON NINTENDO, DON’T SCREW THE CORE GAMER, PLEASE! Anyone else thinking that the DSi is a must have?
