According to Second Story Gamer, a “source close to EA” is confirmating that they are bringing the Sci-fi RPG series to the Sony console, along with the Xbox 360 and PC. This being one of our favorite games of 2007, we are glad that the sequels, and probably the original will be coming to the Sony console. This would be smart for the publisher, Electronic Arts, who is looking to keep themselves in the black during these tough economic times. The only reason the original Mass Effect was an exclusive because Microsoft paid a hefty price to Bioware for it. Now that Bioware is owned by Electronic Arts, they will be bringing it to all consoles and the PC.
The article also states that the second Mass Effect will be revealed at GDC ’09, as reported by us a few days ago. Hopefully we can hear more about the sequel and a release date prior to the reveal at GDC. I would be psyched for multiplatform, then we could post the inevitable comparison videos of the two major consoles along with debates about controls. This would also force my hand to play through the game twice on both consoles.
