Electronic Arts, the publishers of Spore, created by Will Wright and Maxis, today has confirmed that an expansion pack for the popular PC “Universe Simulator” will be released sometime in spring 2009. Spore, which was been in development for years and was one of the most anticipated titles of 2008, has had some updates since its release. This new full expansion, “Galactic Adventures,” has only been confirmed by EA and details are sparse at the moment.
EA Maxis, the creators of the SIMs series, have been hard at work on this expansion and will be releasing more information as a part of the “2009 Spore Lineup” event, which will be coming at the end of the month. For more information about Spore please check out www.spore.com.
Hopefully this add-on will extend the space portion of the game, which, to some, was the most fun part of the game. This is only speculation, but for Spore fans you can expect more of the same and for most this is a great thing. Also, maybe this will remove some of the controversial DRM that had many players up in arms.
