If you haven’t heard of the Dirt series, published by Codemasters, then you are missing out on one of the best rally racing series ever conceived. The second game in the series is going to be released this fiscal year, but already DLC for the game has been confirmed by an interview on CVG.com.
The interview, with Senior Executive Producer Gavin Raeburn, contains many details about the developers plans for downloadable content in the future. “We have plans to launch a number of small DLC packs soon after launch which players can use to personalise and augment the boxed game.” CVG is assuming that the packs will include new tracks, cars and modes, similar to that of Burnout Paradise or Forza 2.
We can only hope, when the game is released, that a crap load of DLC will be released. This will give the gamers another racing game that will be talked about for over a year, just like the recent entry in the Burnout series. The Colin McRae series has always been on the forefront of racing game tech and this title will not be letting us down. See the screenshot posted above. Can’t Wait!
The sadest part about this game has to do with the passing of the icon, Colin McRae. This game will most definitely help keep him in our hearts and minds, doing what he would want us all to do, get DiRTy.
