Epic Contemplating Ranking System Changes

If you’ve ever tried playing multiplayer in Gears of War 2, you very well could be either confused or irritated by how Epic decided to implement their ranking system.  With how it currently is now, it could take quite a while before you ever reach the highest rank of five.  Over the weekend, Rod Fergusson, senior producer of Gears of War 2, posted on Epic’s forums asking people’s opinion on a potential new ranking system.  Rather than using the previously mentioned TrueSkill system, Rod proposed a RPG-like experience ranking system.  Each completed match would gain you some experience based on your score and each quit match would earn you a penalty, possibly causing a demotion.  The initially mentioned level cap was 99, giving Gears 2 poop-sockers a good two weeks or so of grinding.

This news definately has me, someone who lost interest in GoW2 multiplayer after being unable to find matches in less than 15 minutes the few times I made an attempt at playing, intrigued.  The replies to the post seemed mostly positive, so hopefully this system will come to fruition soon.
