It seems as though details for Mass Effect 2 are finding their way through the cracks on a weekly basis. This round of details comes from the Mass Effect forums and is quite interesting. If you pick up the Platinum edition of the game and throw in the bonus disc, you will find some interesting details.

Hi all,
I just picked up my copy of Mass Effect Platinum Hits and popped in the Bonus Disc that came with it.
The Future of Mass Effect Documentary that’s on it talks about the next DLC Bioware wants to release and it looks like a “Fight Club” or “Arena” kind of DLC. They say it’s geared toward combat and it looks like it might use that one big area in the Citadel control room. They also mentioned that they DO want the DLC to lead into Mass Effect 2 and they want the DLC decisions to influence your story in ME2 if you have an ME1 save.
VERY interesting stuff in that documentary. They even had video footage of this next DLC which showed shephard fighting Geth in this big white room with landscape in it.
So, they are working on the next DLC, and they’re saying that they want the DLC to be tailored toward many different play styles.
I think this is a totally new take on releasing DLC. The idea that new DLC will bring more people back to the game and get them excited for a new game is completely different. Recently DLC is THE way to keep us gamers from trading in or even buying used. Even though Mass Effect didn’t have the best combat system, it was one of the most fun for me. I would DEFINITELY buy this DLC and re-buy the game in a heart beat. Keeping my Shepard from the first and continuing onto the next is another interesting idea, but it has done before. It could create a truly cinematic experience, but we don’t know much and will continue to keep our eyes on Mass Effect 2. Stay Tuned!
Plus it gives me an excuse to use my favorite boxart from 2007, ah, the memories.
