Dark Light
New American McGee Alice Game

CEO John Riccitiello has announced that American McGee will be working on a new “Alice” game with EA.  The orginal American McGee’s Alice was a very noir, dark interpretaion of the classic Alice’s Adventure’s in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll.  The original came out for the PC back in 2000, and was also published and distrubited by EA.

American McGee said, “This new project is a dream come true for me and the fans who’ve kept the Alice flame alive. EA gave us creative latitude and support on the original game which resulted in something beautiful and daring. This trip through the looking glass promises to be even more exciting.”

McGee works out of his Shanghai studio “Spicy Horse”, which will more than likely be the main driving force behind the development of the game.  The studio most recently released American McGee’s Grim, which is being released in episodes via download service of Gametap.  That title is also an tnterpretation of a fairy tale, this time the Brother’s Grimm.

There are very little confirmed details of the game, however it has been confirmed for PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360.

David DeMartini, senior vice president and general manager of EA Partners, added “American McGee’s interpretation of Alice was an instant classic, and EA Partners is ready to help him bring his innovative vision for the franchise.”

The original Alice game was released to generally positive reviews, recieving an average of 8.3 out of 10 according to GameStats.  It has developed a cult like following and has a hardcore fanbase that have been waiting for this sequel for almost ten years.  There has been no release date announced.
