Gameloft has announced that they’re bringing their mobile version of Oregon Trail to the iPhone. The game is set to be released either February 28 or March 1st, with no price point known as of yet. For those that either haven’t played the game or don’t remember, you play as a wagon leader of a band of travelers going from Independance, Missouri to Oregon’s Willamette Valley in the year 1848. It was meant to teach kids about the hardships faced by American’s during that time period. This verison will incorporate the accelerometer in some fashion and contain mini games for hunting, fishing, river crossing, wagon repair and rafting.
I cannot wait to play this, as this was the first game I can remember playing in school, with inappropriately named wagon members constantly dying from dystentery.
