According to many articles making their way around the intarnets, Ubisoft will be publishing the much delayed Wheelman title from Midway. Due to the current economic situation of Midway Games, Inc, they have decided to farm out most of the post development work to Ubisoft. This includes things like marketing, production and sales of the Wheelman, developed by Tigon Studios, which is owned by Mr. Vin Diesel. Fortunately for him and his company they now have a good company behind the title. I think it should sell rather well because it is a cross between driver and GTA, at least that is what I have read in other previews.
Now wait….stop, don’t jump to conclusions, Midway is not selling off anything worth a dime. In the story, from Gamasutra, “Midway will also retain all future franchise rights and sell the game in the European territories not included in the above list.” This means that if they survive the s&%t storm they got themselves into, all future Wheelman games will be published by Midway. I hope that Midway survives, for Mortal Kombat’s sake because that is really the only viable franchise Midway has left, that is truly profitable.
