Rob Pardo, Blizzard’s Exectutive Vice President of Game Design, recently revealed that the PC’s most profitable developer is currently in discussion with Microsoft over the next generation Xbox. The Escapist reports that not much else was detailed, other than that the lack of input devices prefered by Blizzard games is why they have remained absent from consoles since the Nintendo 64.
This is definately a smart thing on Microsoft’s part, even if the current economic climate is not the best place to put out a new system in the normal 5-year span of a console’s life. Why not cater to the highest grossing publisher out now’s whims to try to secure exclusivity of their games on consoles as well as the ones they have on PC?
