Activision has let us know that the new Map Pack for Call of Duty: World at War has passed over 1 million downloads in its first weekend. This was during March 19th to the 22nd and shows the power of the Call of Duty franchise. At ten bucks a pop, that is over 10 million dollars of extra revenue for the title and bragging rights for the Treyarch folks against those dudes at Infinity Ward. I was one of those 1 million folks and have enjoyed my purchase. If you are on the fence about this download, I would recommend you download it only if you are an avid gaming in the online space.

Call of Duty(R): World at War Map Pack 1 Exceeds One Million Downloads in First Weekend of Availability

SANTA MONICA, Calif., March 31, 2009 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ — Armies of Call of Duty(R) fans have heeded the call and responded with more than one million downloads of the Call of Duty(R): World at War Map Pack 1 from Activision Publishing, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) and developer Treyarch, during its first weekend of availability (March 19-22) on Xbox LIVE and the PlayStation Network.
