Another analyst has come out to give us some insight into the world that encompasses Sony. Analyst Nick Williams has stated that through their consumer tracking they have found that 1/3rd of those people who want God of War II don’t actually own a PS3. He also talks about Sony’s balancing of the needed price-cut, but also for their need to break even with cost of the PS3 and the sale price. He thinks that Sony will continue with its current price until around Summer 2009. He does have some ominous news however for he believes that for the Sony to use GoW 3 as a console seller the systems base price will need to be around that of an Xbox 360 and Wii. Though he does point out that, with the success of the PS2 8 years into its life cycle, Sony is out for a long haul with the PS3.
There is a lot of important information to pull from this article. First of all just the fact that 1/3rd of consumers wanting God of War III don’t own a PS3 make it a great way to sell PS3s. If Sony can lower the price of its console to truly compete with the Wii price and the 360′s arcade/pro, then it will be able to attract a lot more consumers to the table. They have a lot of time to do this before GoW 3 comes out, as it was pushed back to fiscal year 2009, and if they work hard i’m sure they could make the PS3 much more cost effective by the time the game releases. The ball is definitely in Sony’s court, lets see what they do.

I really hate PS3. I have to admit though that it has to be one of the best blue ray players on the market currently but as for a gaming system its damn POS!
As far as blue ray players go i rather get a samsung that has netflix built in. If God of War wants to be exclusive then lets start digging 6 weeks to bury this title.
