According to Garnett Lee and the boys/gals at 1up, the Playstation 3 exlusive inFamous have been given a June release date. This is good for the Playstation 3 because it spreads out the AAA titles quick nicely, instead of the fall release date given to most titles like this. It is true that the game is a new IP from a studio that has made less serious and more kiddy games in the past. But, Sucker Punch, the developer behind the highly anticipated title, was made famous from their work on the Sly Cooper series, which is highly regarded among the enthusiast press. I hope that this game sells well, but with Prototype right on its heals, I think that market for a supernatural open world game will be highly saturated this year. Along with the recent release of GTA: Lost and Damned, the open world market has….well….been opened to the whole wide world.
