It seems that Fenner Investments Ltd’s case against Nintendo for patent-infringement has been dismissed. Judge Leonard Davis of the U.S. District Court in Tyler, Texas presided over the case and decided there was no need to go any further with it. The lawsuit was for infringement on one of Fenner’s patents by the Wii and Gamecube.
Rick Flamm, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Legal & General Counsel states:
“We are very pleased with the court’s decision. Nintendo has a long history of developing innovative products while respecting the intellectual property rights of others. We also vigorously defend patent lawsuits when we firmly believe that we have not infringed another party’s patent, despite the risks that this policy entails. I would like to express our sincere appreciation for the tireless efforts of our legal team, which represented us so well.”
I hope my lawsuit to cash in on Nintendo’s current success fairs much better.
