A Sony New Zealand game release schedule currently lists Fat Princess as rolling out on June 18, hopefully being a clue as to when we’ll see this much anticipated Playstation Network exclusive title over here in the United States. Previously slated for Spring of this year, it was pushed back to the Summer, which fits this overseas release schedule nicely.
For those that do not know, Fat Princess is a 16 vs 16 multiplayer game for the Playstation Network that acts as a capture the flag type game, but instead of a flag, your team is rescuing your sides princess. The whole time you are working your way over to the princess, the opposing side is feeding her to make her harder to carry back to your side. You must use cooperation as five different classes in order to win.
Here is a key features list from the Playstation.com’s game description:
- Unique Game Modes – After the ten-chapter single-player campaign, enjoy custom games of Rescue the Princess, Snatch ‘n Grab, Team Deathmatch and Invasion.
- 5 Character Classes – Change between Worker, Warrior, Ranger, Mage and Priest simply by picking up a new hat.
- Unique and Varied Stages – Enjoy eight comical and challenging maps, plus two special arena-style single-player levels.
- Online Multiplayer – Face off in online matches with up to 32 players and in-game voice chat.
- Customizable Avatars – Create your own personal avatar before you charge into battle. Unlock new customization options during gameplay.
In game voice chat seems to be a new feature they added after complaints from the gaming media when the feature was to be omitted after the first announcement of the game.

As someone who loves Team Fortress 2, I am definately looking forward to this games release, whenever that may be.
