Final Fantasy VII Released on Japan PSN

Gamasutra is reporting that Square Enix’s most popular title, and one of the most famous RPG’s of all time, is now available on Japanese PSN and PS3 networks.  Final Fantasy VII is going for roughly $15.00 USD on the network, and no US dates have been confirmed yet.

The game being released is Final Fantasy VII International person, which features a streamlined menu and materia system and an extra cutscene regarding Cloud’s past.  When it was released in 1997, Final Fantasy VII was easily the most popular RPG of the time, and redefined the genre.  It is often in the tops of many “Best Game of All Time” lists.  It has thus far inspired a prequel, a full lenth CGI movie, and numerous sequels/side stories in the world of Mako and Midgar.  Not to mention Crisis Core.

Hopefully Square will release this in the US sometime soon!  FFVII would sell like hotcakes here (most sales on ebay easily pass the $50 mark), as it has never seemed to die down in popularity
