Fable 2, from Lionhead Studios, was one of the best reviewed games from last year. I played the hell out of the game and loved every minute of it’s beautiful, engaging gameplay. Since the release on the Xbox 360 last fall, there has been only one DLC pack, Knothole Island. This added an entirely new location with 3 new quests and a bunch of new weapons and items. For 800 MS points, the DLC pack was worth it, but only for die hard fans like myself. Now with the release of the second DLC pack, See the Future, Lionhead Studios has brought even more quests and locations to the epic title. Was it worth the price? I played through the main questline and started some of the side quests. Overall, it is worth every penny.
The main quests are played out through items bought from Murgo, the unique item trader who started the whole storyline. You buy certain items from him and they transport you to various locations that require some killin’ to finish them. The four main quests take up about 3 hours to complete, especially when searching for the hidden items. For only 560 MSPs, or seven dollars, this pack is well worth the small price tag. The quests were much better than the first DLC pack and much more unique. If you download this DLC pack, you will know exactly what I mean. I just wish that this amount of variety was part of the original release because it would have made it even more enjoyable. But, the implementation in the main story would have been much tougher then in this DLC pack. You save a town from black and white, free a demon and “See the Future.” id that really spoil anything, I hope not.
Even though the gameplay and questing is the reason to purchase this pack, there is a sneak peak of the “future.” I won’t spoil everything for you, but their is a small tease for another title or more DLC. Shocker, what did you expect it to be? It was definitely a neat addition. I would love to see more of this type of “tease” in future DLC for other games. Keep up the good work Lionhead and Peter, we can’t wait to see what you are unveiling at E3. Oh, by the way, go support such a great game and download this DLC pack, but only if you are an avid fan. I wanted more, but what I got satisfied me, for now.
