EA has seen the profitability of the MMA series, UFC: Undisputed and now are creating their own unlicensed franchise based on the popular sport, creatively called EA Sports MMA 2010. The game, obviously, is coming in 2010 and is being developed by the FNR4 boys at Tiburon. “EA SPORTS MMA will feature the most authentic, intense and broad mixed martial arts experience to date – complete with a vast array of top fighters and fighting styles from around the world.” Okay, but the popular league is UFC, oh yeah, that IP is being used by THQ to make UFC: Undisputed. I wonder how EA feels now about exclusive rights to a sporting league. They are getting a taste of their own medicine, but they will probably throw a bunch of money at Mr. Dana White, President of UFC, next year and they will secure their own deal. Poor THQ, they just don’t have the bargaining power, and I though their new UFC game would take them to their promised land, PROFITABILITY. As for platforms, the game will be coming to the usual PS3 and Xbox 360. Check out the teaser site for more information about the upcoming title.
