CGTalk has a 2 page article with plenty of in-game screens from the upcoming RPG/FPS game Borderlands, by Gearbox. Their visual goal was to maintain the look achieved in the concept art, which I think you’ll all agree they did a great job with. It goes beyond the traditional cell-shader and has an almost hand drawn, painted quality to it. The game also offers a unique weapons drop system, where no two guns will ever be the same: The AI randomly selects from a huge list of possible attributes, such as strength, ammo type, armor, etc., making them great at killing one thing and bad at another. It’s set in a huge open world environment that reminds me of Fallout 3 or Mad Max. Built on the Unreal 3 Engine it will be available this fall on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Check out the article here.
