In honor of Battletech’s 25th anniversary as well as the 10th anniversary of MekTek, Mechwarrior 4 and all of it’s expansions will soon be offered for free off of the site Battletech.com.  This announcement was announced in tandem with the unveiling of a new MechWarrior game under production by Piranha games for the PC and Xbox 360.

I anticipate that the download will be available in a few days, or a week at most so keep your eyes open.  I highly suggest that anyone not familiar with the MechWarrior franchise should take advantage of this opportunity.  After all, how often do you get an entire game for free?
