Wow, online boycotts sure do work well. For those that don’t know, a few Valve fans have been protesting their recent announcement of Left 4 Dead 2, citing that the developer has gone back on their word on promised free content for the first game.
Now, about a month later, Doug Lombardi has told Eurogamer that pre-orders for Left 4 Dead 2 have surpased that of L4D1 at this time last year.
“Our pre-orders are currently double what they were for Left 4 Dead 1 at this point in time away from launch,” he says. “We’re like 20 weeks out or something like that.”
I personally do not see a problem with Valve releasing this sequel, as I have gotten more than my moneys worth out of the first game. While the boycott seemed like a huge spectacle at first, it now seems like it was once again just the vocal minority complaining.
