Microsoft recently announced that 1 vs. 100 Live will start offering up real life honest-to-goodness prizes in their now post-beta foray into live, interactive game shows.
If you’re lucky enough to be “The One” and left standing at the end with no “Mob” members left, you could presumably win up to 10,000 Microsoft Points (worth $125 USD in real money – but that’s only really true in one scenario: where someone is holding a gun to your head and telling you to spend that $125 in your hands on Microsoft Points). The good news is that’s not the only scenario under which you’re able to win anything. Mob members also win prizes, depending on how many of them are left when “The One” blows it, and everyone else playing in the “Crowd,” well…you are welcome to put money on top of your Xbox and then take some of it back whenever you get an answer correctly.
I’m excited to check this thing out. I played the Beta and had a good time with it. The prospect, however slim, of winning real prizes in a video game adds something fresh to the experience. Plus, hey, if I get good enough at this, I won’t ever need to find a real job, right?
