Kotaku recently got their hands on a Meijer catalogue (street dated August 30th) showing a very important piece of information that Microsoft hasn’t gotten around to revealing yet: apparently the Xbox 360 Pro Model is being phased out while the Elite model, with its 120GB hard drive, is going to be dropped in price to $299, the former price of the Pro model.
This news comes as the rumor mill regarding the alleged “PS3 Slim” model that has been spotted at various places in the wild like some kind of yeti means both Sony and Microsoft are making some big pushes to get systems off the shelves come September.
