Wow. It looks like Best Buy is turning up the heat after GameStop recently starting mixing things up and offering some better deals of their own. According to a forum post on Cheap Ass Gamer showing the above picture, Best Buy is trying out a new deal to offer up “price matches [on] new games at used prices from GameStop and Game Crazy.” Meaning that ridiculous $5 discount/insult GameStop tells you its offering you on a used copy of Arkham Asylum a month from now can instead be used towards a $5 discounts NEW copy from Best Buy. Pretty sweet!
The program is obviously being tested out locally (the user who saw this was in West Jordan, Utah – which as we all know is ground zero of the video game retail war) and if its not a success we may never hear about it again. But hopefully the increase in business justifies the loss in profits, and arrows that went down now go up, and things that were red start to go black, and we’ll all get to benefit from two giant organizations fighting tooth and nail for our money!
