At this morning’s Final Fantasy XIII premier party, Square Enix finally announced an official release date on the first numbered title in the series this generation. While for December 17th in Japan, Yoichi Wada mentioned that they are aiming for a spring release internationally.
Kaz Hirai made an appearance at the event as well, announcing that there will be a FFXIII flavored PlayStation 3 bundle coming soon.
It’s been a while since I’ve really been able to lose myself in a good Final Fantasy. Hopefully this one will be the next to suck me in.

Man I’m there with you. Like everyone else, FF 7 was a breakthrough for me. I really hope this new one will prove to be something to that effect.
