Some good ol’ zombie killing to start off my Wednesday morning. I played as Ellis in the campaign demo and tried out some of the fun new melee weapons, like the cast iron frying pan, police baton and electric guitar. They have a nice ring to them after they make contact with zombie skulls and get nice and bloody.
Encountered some of the new bad guys, like the Jockey, (who “rides” you) the Charger (who has one big arm and repeatedly pummels you into the ground) and the Spitter who leaves a nasty puddle of bubbling green acid that depletes your health really rapidly if you get stuck in it. Didn’t see any Witches, although I hear they wander about in the daytime now, but the Tank, Smoker and Hunter are pretty much the same.
Not sure if horde sees better in the daylight, but they definitely react faster than in the original. I also picked up a shot of adrenaline, which increases your reaction time and a defibrillator, which I unfortunately didn’t get a chance to try out.
So far so good. Nothing mind blowingly new, but I’ll still be buying it.
