I know I post a lot about WoW, but what can I say, it’s what I play the most. Aion was pretty, and flying was neat, but that’s about it. With the upcoming Cataclysm expansion I returned to WoW and it’s time to get all my alts to 80.
Masterofwarcraft.net has posted some more information on 5 of the new zones:
Deepholm, to be located beneath Skywall. As can be expected from the name, it will be full of tunnels and caves and fire/earth mobs.
“Deepholm will be where Deathwing breaks back through into Azeroth and will also be the home of the Temple of the Earth. It looks like, right now, that there will be a pair of airships in the area, similar to how they were in Icecrown.”
Uldum: Remember those gates in Tanaris with the big hole? They’ve finally opened….onto MORE desert!
“The gates were blocking off an ancient Titan homeland where the “Ultimate Weapon” was being hidden. This land is said to be a desert much like tanaris and will be home to a very ancient Egyptstyle feel.”
Mount Hyjal
“In Cataclysm, Mount Hyjal is going to be where Ragnaros returns and lays siege on the World Tree. It is also where Malfurion Stormrage will make his first appearance, returning from the Emerald Dream to command the Cenarius armies against this big bad boss.Zones nearby include Ashenvale, Felwood, and Winterspring, and the content will include a raid called Firelands to face off against Ragnaros.”
The Sunken City of Vash’jir: Yes, you’ll have to swim, so get grab your warlock buddies or breathings pots. Located south of Maelstrom, this is the former home of the serpent Lady Vash’jir before the Sundering occurred. Special underwater mounts will be available.
Twilight Highlands: Home to Grim Batol and the new location of the Twilight Cult. Also the location for the final fight against Deathwing.
“There will be boats here for both Horde and Alliance players as well as the Red Dragonflight to go along with the heavy Black Dragonflight presence and the Twilight Dragonflight. Grim Batol will be both a 5 maninstance and a raid here.”
