Our favorite time of the month, no not that, get your minds out of the gutter, it is NPD time (February 2009). Overall, there is not anything hugely surprising on the consoles front, but the games are quite amazing. According to many sites, including Edge-Online, Teltale Games is currently working on two new Lego games. One being based on the popular Harry Potter series and the other based on the new Indiana Jones file, Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls. Nintendo have just released a 120 game list of titles coming out in the first half of 2009. There are a few games that are must haves along with a whole bunch of crap we would not want to touch with a ten foot pole. This morning, a press release from Nintendo announced the American release date and price for the next iteration of it's still going strong handheld, the Nintendo DSi. As we all know, the Nintendo Wii and DS were two of the most wanted "toys" of the holiday season. But who would have though the Wii could or even would have increased its sales by fifty percent between November and December. According to the rumors from the pages of the new Game Informer, an unnamed source states that a new Grand Theft Auto will be released by the end of 2009. The post also points out that Vice City was released less than a year after Grand Theft Auto III. Our friend and video game analyst, Michael Pachter has made some bold predictions prior to the release of the NPD numbers for December. According to him the Nintendo will have sold 3.25 million Wii's and 2.6 million DS systems. Holy crap, they do print money for Nintendo.
