  • Riddle Me This, PAX! 0 CommentsPosted by Matt Shafeek on September 10, 2009 under News
Edit: Aha! This time Kotaku gets the news from US! I showed Totilo the picture when we met PAX. It's all good - we're besties now. I just got back from back a few days ago, and boy was it a fantastic time! I don't have too much gaming news to provide that the others sites weren't on top of the moment the expo began, but I do have one interesting tidbit I don't think anyone else seemed to notice... more.

At this morning's Final Fantasy XIII premier party, Square Enix finally announced an official release date on the first numbered title in the series this generation. While for December 17th in Japan, Yoichi Wada mentioned that they are aiming for a spring release internationally. Kaz Hirai made an appearance at the event as well, announcing that there will be a FFXIII flavored PlayStation 3 bun... more.
  • Achivement Unlocked: Shadow Complex Sells Over 200K Since Lauch, Sets New Record 0 CommentsPosted by Matt Shafeek on September 1, 2009 under News, Xbox 360
Good news for Chair Entertainment and Epic Games: Shadow Complex has broken a new sales record for XBLA and sold over 200,000 downloads since it launched August 19th, which is especially great considering it isn't a multiplayer title, which tends to inflate sales. I've only dabbled with the demo so far, but from what I can tell, the "Metroidvania" style gameplay works very well, and the product... more.

  • Xbox 360 Price Drop Is Official – $300 Elite, $250 Pro While ‘Supplies Last’ 0 CommentsPosted by Matt Shafeek on August 27, 2009 under News, Xbox 360
This morning Microsoft finally went ahead and confirmed what we all expected - in order to stay competitive and take a bit of the wind out of Sony's sails from their price drop/slim announcement last week, as of tomorrow they are lowering the price of the top end 360 models: the Elite drops to $300, a direct match the now singular PS3 model, and the Pro drops to $250, that is, until the remaining ... more.

  • Peter Molyneux: Only 10% Of Americans Played As Evil In Fable 2 2 CommentsPosted by Matt Shafeek on August 25, 2009 under News, Xbox 360
Fable 2 creator and all around quotable guy Peter Molyneux gave GamesSetWatch an interesting statistic recently: apparently the vast majority of American gamers are a bunch of goody two shoes. 90% of us played through the game as good rather than evil. This number came up in his discussion on the importance of choice, in which Molyneux points out that giving the player options has "created this... more.

Joystiq has posted up some of the new FFXIV screenshots from GamesCom. With gorgeous environments, highly detailed character models, and a hot bar, it's looking more and more like Square will be getting my money monthly. As long as the game remains somewhat soloable, of course. ... more.
  • New Battle.Net Info and Screens 0 CommentsPosted by Jon Huie on under News, PC Games
According to Kotaku, the newly redesigned Battle.Net launching alongside Starcraft II's release will be very much like Xbox Live and Steam. Borrowing ideas and improving on them has always been a strong suit of Blizzard, and it seems like it will be no different when this new service rolls out "when it's done". Much like both of the other services, a cross game chat system and buddy lists will a... more.
