  • Gabe Newell does what Bobby Kotick won’t (just yet) 0 CommentsPosted by Mr Rusher on August 14, 2009 under News, PS3
Whether this is just more PS3 hating from the head of Valve or actual dismissal of Sony's struggling format, this story and quote got my attention. [Geoff] Keighley: Are you guys working on PlayStation 3 here now, trying to understand it, trying to get better at it? Gabe: Uh, no. Not in any real way. Does this mean that Valve's dumping the console altogether? It wouldn't altogether be a serio... more.
  • Raven Dev Offers To Pay You Back For Buying Wolfenstein (IF…) 0 CommentsPosted by Matt Shafeek on August 13, 2009 under News, PS3, Xbox 360
It's time for the crazy bet/marketing gimmick of the day boys and girls! Raven Developer Maveen Heir has posted on his twitter feed that if his studio's latest release, Wolfenstein somehow manages to outsell perennial August video game champion Madden then he will personally reimburse every single person who purchased a copy of the game. Kind of an insane marketing ploy, but actually pretty sma... more.
  • 360 Price Drop Rumor – Elite To Drop to $299, Pro Model Dead 0 CommentsPosted by Matt Shafeek on August 12, 2009 under News, PS3, Xbox 360
Kotaku recently got their hands on a Meijer catalogue (street dated August 30th) showing a very important piece of information that Microsoft hasn't gotten around to revealing yet: apparently the Xbox 360 Pro Model is being phased out while the Elite model, with its 120GB hard drive, is going to be dropped in price to $299, the former price of the Pro model. This news comes as the rumor mill re... more.
  • Nielson Reports 360 First System To Overtake PS2 0 CommentsPosted by Matt Shafeek on August 11, 2009 under PS2, PS3 News, Wii News, Xbox 360 News
This is an interesting bit of news. According to formerly television-centric ratings maker Nielson, and their new video game ratings system, the Xbox 360 has become the first console to beat the PS2 in terms overall minutes played per month. The Wii is not too far behind, and the Ps3 is lagging a ways below. Although they are "neck and neck" in terms in actual numbers, logic dictates that over ... more.
  • Brutal Legend soundtrack is truly brutal 0 CommentsPosted by Arsen Nazaryan on under News, PS3, Xbox 360
For us (heavy) metal fans, few games have ever truly touched the darker side. Although music games have begun to incorporate and appreciate the long-revered genre of metal and its traditions, the truth is that nothing distinguishes a Guitar Hero or Rock Band game with the metal genre between that of a pop genre (other than, obviously enough, the genre itself). On October 13 (16th in Europe), Do... more.
  • TMNT: Turtles in time Re-shelled 0 CommentsPosted by Jim Chaliz on under PS3 Reviews, Xbox 360 Reviews
A few months ago I got wind that Turtles in Time was being  remade with updated  graphics, due to be released on Xbox Live. An irrational excitement came over me. I got flashbacks of sitting in front of my SNES, playing through the game, and then popping in my VHS copy of some episodes to get pumped up  enough to go for another round. Ok, I know I’m not alone on this. Hopefully. Skip Â... more.
  • Overlord II Review 1 CommentsPosted by Jon Huie on August 9, 2009 under Featured Content, PC Reviews, PS3 Previews, Xbox 360 Reviews
Games that give you the choice of being good or evil have been around for a while now. From Baldur's Gate to inFAMOUS, this category seems to be slowly evolving. One thing that is not found very often is the choice to be "evil or more evil", something the developers at Triumph Studios have brought about in the form of the Overlord series. While Overlord II is the first game in the series I hav... more.
  • UFC Undisputed 2009 – THQ’s method of achieving greatness 0 CommentsPosted by Arsen Nazaryan on August 8, 2009 under Featured Content, PS3 Reviews, Xbox 360 Reviews
Okay, I am not going to lie: I don’t love fighting games. I like ‘em, but I certainly do not have love for them. Street Fighter 4? May come as a shock but I did not get into it. Mortal Kombat VS DC Universe? I would prefer Mortal Kombat 3 over any other game in the series. Truly, there is little appeal in selecting from a group of generic characters with barely intriguing powers and then pitti... more.
  • Rock Band 2 expands…yet again 0 CommentsPosted by Arsen Nazaryan on under PS3 News, PSP News, Wii News, Xbox 360 News
In its standard fashion, Harmonix, the minds behind the hit music game Rock Band 2 are announcing a new trackpack, which will feature Gorillaz, the animated band created by Blur frontman Damon Albarn. The songs will be up on XBOX Live Marketplace on August 11; on the PlayStation Network they will be released on August 13. Also included in the new track pack are legendary artists The Who, 60s pheno... more.
  • Arkham Asylum Demo 0 CommentsPosted by sweatyapple on August 7, 2009 under PS3 Previews, Xbox 360 Previews
What better way to start off my Friday than to visit Arkham Asylum? I played through the demo and it's definitely sold me on buying the game. Loved the graphics, animation and controls. I like that Batman can't take a lot of bullet damage and needs to stay stealthed, which gives you options like silent or inverted takedown. Detective mode reveals nearby enemies in  x-ray vision, or highlights use... more.
