  • Risen Review 0 CommentsPosted by Jon Huie on March 7, 2010 under Featured Content, Xbox 360 Reviews
When I was asked to review Risen, I actually had not even heard of the game before. It was made by Piranha Bytes, the developers responsible for the Gothic series, and had been released last year on the PC. While there are definitely some graphical hangups and some minor control issues, Risen ended up impressing me more than I thought it would. Though I can't recommend this game to just anyone, pe... more.
  • Bayonetta Review 1 CommentsPosted by sweatyapple on January 16, 2010 under Featured Content, Xbox 360 Reviews
Bayonetta is an over-the-top, visually stunning, button mashing mayhem. Besides a few lengthy cut scenes (which you can skip), and a story that almost makes sense, it’s just plain fun. It’s a mish mash of action: everything from shooting, melee fighting, morphing, vehicles, surfing….whatever, it’s got it in there somewhere. The story seems like a clear cut light versus dark, (at first).... more.
  • Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Not too marvelous or ultimate for me 0 CommentsPosted by Arsen Nazaryan on September 23, 2009 under Featured Content, PS3 Reviews, Xbox 360 Reviews
Few games offer as much nostalgia about my childhood as comic book games. After having played the incredible Batman: Arkham Asylum, I sat down to give Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 a chance and have come off with…well, these impressions: If you are a fan of any of the extensive Marvel comic book series, you know the story arc of Civil War. Mark Millar supplied an incredible allegory to the Ameri... more.
  • Batman: Arkham Asylum Free DLC Review 1 CommentsPosted by Matt Shafeek on September 18, 2009 under PC Reviews, PS3 Reviews, Xbox 360 Reviews
I had the pleasure of checking out the the new Arkham Asylum free DLC that was released today for everyone's version of the game. The first part of the DLC is entitled "Totally Insane" and it is a combat challenge similar to the ones you fight in the non-stealth oriented fights in the regular Challenge Mode with two twists: one, for the first time they've included the psychopaths (or lunatics?... more.
  • Rock Band: The Beatles Review 1 CommentsPosted by Frank Hunter on September 12, 2009 under Featured Content, PS3 Reviews, Wii Reviews, Xbox 360 Reviews
I've got blisters on me fingers! After a night-long adventure on tour around the world, I'm back and ready to report on this rock and roll experience. Rock Band: The Beatles is similar to recent Guitar Hero titles that feature Aerosmith, Metallica, and (soon) Van Halen. However, unlike Activision's titles, this swingin' 60s spinoff features only the main event. You will spend the entire game a... more.
  • Batman: Arkham Asylum Review 4 CommentsPosted by sweatyapple on September 2, 2009 under Featured Content, Xbox 360 Reviews
The Joker has control of Arkham Asylum. After being dropped off by Batman, in an extra long opening sequence, Joker manages to overwhelm security and start causing chaos by setting all the inmates free. Harley Quinn acts as second in command, directing the inmates and setting traps to keep Batman busy. Meanwhile the Joker works behind the scenes on a superhuman formula known as the Titan strain, w... more.
  • Wolverine Review 0 CommentsPosted by sweatyapple on August 25, 2009 under Xbox 360 Reviews
Closer to the ruthless Wolverine from the comic books, Logan fights his way through the Alkali Lake facility, parts of the African jungle and other underground military bases in the desert. It's mostly a hack-and-slash game with a bit of Tomb Raider puzzle solving thrown in. As repetitive as the game is, it's still enjoyable because the fight moves are simple to pull off and immensely satisfying. ... more.
  • TMNT: Turtles in time Re-shelled 0 CommentsPosted by Jim Chaliz on August 11, 2009 under PS3 Reviews, Xbox 360 Reviews
A few months ago I got wind that Turtles in Time was being  remade with updated  graphics, due to be released on Xbox Live. An irrational excitement came over me. I got flashbacks of sitting in front of my SNES, playing through the game, and then popping in my VHS copy of some episodes to get pumped up  enough to go for another round. Ok, I know I’m not alone on this. Hopefully. Skip Â... more.
  • Overlord II Review 1 CommentsPosted by Jon Huie on August 9, 2009 under Featured Content, PC Reviews, PS3 Previews, Xbox 360 Reviews
Games that give you the choice of being good or evil have been around for a while now. From Baldur's Gate to inFAMOUS, this category seems to be slowly evolving. One thing that is not found very often is the choice to be "evil or more evil", something the developers at Triumph Studios have brought about in the form of the Overlord series. While Overlord II is the first game in the series I hav... more.
  • UFC Undisputed 2009 – THQ’s method of achieving greatness 0 CommentsPosted by Arsen Nazaryan on August 8, 2009 under Featured Content, PS3 Reviews, Xbox 360 Reviews
Okay, I am not going to lie: I don’t love fighting games. I like ‘em, but I certainly do not have love for them. Street Fighter 4? May come as a shock but I did not get into it. Mortal Kombat VS DC Universe? I would prefer Mortal Kombat 3 over any other game in the series. Truly, there is little appeal in selecting from a group of generic characters with barely intriguing powers and then pitti... more.
